Video: Nimbus T11 first look

Nimbus T11 was one of our favourite boats of Düsseldorf Boat Show thanks to its clever packaging and the promise of serious performance

Nimbus T11 has a fine looking twin-stepped hull with the option to have the outboards featured on the show boat or a pair of inboards which, if you opt for the twin 430hp V8s, will top 50 knots.

This is a practical machine with thoughtful touches, such as the powered engine hatch which rises to reveal a lit and lined storage void, if you opt for outboards, and the cockpit seating with its plethora of formations. The key to this is the centrally hinged teak table, whose leaves can flip both forward and aft to make the space as versatile possible.

You can, for example, convert the aft end into a sunpad but still seat four guests at the table or you can spin the outermost seats 90˚ so they face aft to create a larger dining space. At this point the backrests flip aft so that four people can sit facing forward when the boat is on passage, with protection from the substantial deck galley.

With no cooking facilities below decks this area serves the entire boat. It is well equipped, though it may be a little short of fridge space for longer stays.

There are no complaints at the helm where three seats overlook an exemplary dashboard and are well protected by a deep windscreen. Below, the quality of joinery is noteworthy, as is the fact you can sleep four adults at a push. However, with a forward vee berth, tight double amidships and separate wet room, it’s better suited to a couple.
