Brighton Marina update

The lock at Brighton Marina is now fully operational after breaking down for several days last week

Premier’s Brighton Marina has announced that its inner lock is now working again following an unforeseeable fault that led to the lock gates over-closing and becoming stuck earlier last week.

Engineering efforts to manually open the gates were unsuccessful and the decision was made to remove the side seals on the locks. Once the seals were removed, the lock gates were able to be opened fully on the afternoon of Saturday 2 April.

Brighton Marina manager, Phil Godfrey, commented, “I would like to apologise again to all of the boatowners affected by the lock closure and thank you all for being so patient. It was important for us to act quickly and responsibly and this was reflected in the letters of congratulations that we received from our berthholders, so thank you.”
