Police have released CCTV video of a man they want to speak to in connection with a boat fire at Sutton Harbour Marina in Plymouth in the early hours of Sunday
Police are hunting for a suspected arsonist after a motorboat was burnt out at Sutton Harbour Marina in Plymouth in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Two fire appliances were called to the scene just after 5am, but the blaze gutted the 23ft Sundancer and damaged a 24ft yacht moored alongside it before being brought under control.
Damage to the two craft is estimated to be around £34,000. Witnesses saw a man, described as tall and of slim build, wearing a light-coloured hoodie, jeans and trainers, with a rucksack over his shoulders and carrying a fishing rod as he approached the boat, run from the scene.
Devon and Cornwall Police have released two CCTV clips of the man they wish to speak to in connection with this incident.
Video 1 shows the suspect walking along the pontoons towards the boat.
Video 2 shows the suspect running away from the boat as flames become visible in the background.
Police also wish to speak to a cyclist that is seen on CCTV in and around the area about around the time of the incident who may be a potential witness.
