Puerto Portals hosts free boat show this weekend

Some 60 boats from big European yards will be on show at Portals Nautical Weekend

The growing trend for free, boutique boat shows has spread to Mallorca, with the three-day Portals Nautical Weekend set to kick-off on Saturday.

Organisers say there will be 60 new and used boats on display in the marina from yards like Fairline, Azimut, Princess, and Sunseeker.

The show – which is free to enter – will run until Monday, with exhibits open from midday to 9pm.

There will be chandlery, tenders and other boating bits on display, a classic car exhibition and many of the port’s bars, boutiques and restaurants are preparing spcecial offers.

The highlight will be a procession of 20 boats on Sunday evening at 9.45pm. Music, lights and commentary will accompany the parade.

“This is the first time ever that such a large and varied display of yachts and nautical products combined with various lifestyle attractions has been staged in Mallorca, and with no entry fees,” organisers said.
