Palm Beach to launch entry-level 42-footer

Australian manufacturer Palm Beach has announced plans to expand its range of motor yachts with a brand new 42ft launch

A new gentleman’s launch from Australia will launch later this year in the form of the Palm Beach 42.

The new model will serve as an entry-level vessel for this range of gentleman’s cruisers, which currently includes 45-65ft models.

Mark Richard, founder and CEO of Palm Beach Motoryachts, said that the PB42 will come with a price tag of less than $1m (£685,000).

“It is a beautiful performing boat with speeds well over 30 knots and is one of the most fuel-efficient boats in the market place today,” he added. “Most importantly, the build quality is absolutely second to none.”

Palm Beach will be building on a composite hull, made from E-Glass, Corcell and Airex foam, Duflex panelling, stitched multi-axial fabric, vinylester and epoxy resins.

The standard engine set-up is a single 435hp Volvo Penta on a shaft-drive, but IPS will be made available on European imports.

Layout options include single and twin-cabin variants, while the galley can be either sunken or on the main deck.

Whatever they choose, the owner will get a King-size bed for overnighting and the head-turning styling of a Palm Beach. Launch dates and boat show appearances are yet to be confirmed.
