Premier Marinas adds self-storage service at Swanwick

122 self-storage units have been added to the Premier Marinas Swanwick facility

Move over Big Yellow and Safestore, Premier Marinas is getting into the self-storage business.

The marina chain opened its first self-storage facility at Swanwick this week (2 February), with the aim of attracting local residents and businesses as well as berth holders.

A total of 6,000 sq ft of storage space is available across 122 units, giving boat owners a convenient and safer alternative to leaving valuable gear on board or lugging it home and locking in the garage.

The self-storage units range in size from 10-75 sq ft and are covered 24/7 by both CCTV and on-site security staff.

The minimum commitment for a unit is 28 days, and Premier Marinas is currently offering lower introductory rates, including four weeks free on all bookings of more than eight weeks.

Pete Bradshaw, CEO of Premier Marinas, explained the rationale behind a marina chain branching out into the self-storage business:

“Self storage is increasingly popular with families and businesses looking to use space more effectively in their homes and at work.

“Our self storage facility is perfect for the marine community and a great alternative to the big city based self storage operators,” he added.
