Day 4 – Normandy cruise

We are now in St Vaast la Hougue after a very pleasant passage along the Normandy coast

We are currently moored in the charming town of St Vaast la Hougue, after a good cruise along the Normandy coast.

This is a busy fishing harbour so Claire and Richard onboard Time Flies had a hard time finding room for everyone but we’re all in now and tomorrow is a rest day, so there’s plenty of time for everyone to explore this lovely-looking place.

Most of the fleet have headed into town for dinner – as a seafood lover I have on good authority that there are a number of delicious fish restaurants scattered around; I also hear you can get platters of fresh fish delivered to the boat.

We have a late arrival to the fleet too. The crew of Rosie D arrived last night after getting their brand new Beneteau Monte Carlo 42 delivered by truck to Cherbourg.

By this morning, Rosie D’s Graham looked shattered after spending most of the night working on the boat as it sat on the hard.

All his work paid off though, as the boat was launched this morning and Graham and Caroline and the kids were able to set off to St Vaast with the rest of us. It’s nice to see the lengths some people will go to to join an MBM cruise.

Tomorrow the MBM team has a list of chores to work through but hopefully we’ll find time to potter around town and sniff out some of the wonderful wine and food this region is so well known for.
