Day 7 – (Part 1) Channel Islands Liberation Cruise

Liberation Day is here and St Peter Port is buzzing

The MBM fleet awoke to the sound of an air raid siren at 9am.

At 10:05 crowds lined the seafront to watch the colourful Liberation Church Parade including all the dignitaries, Chelsea Pensioners, veterans and the sea cadets.

Crews are currently ashore or on their flybridges watching the Liberation Service on the enormous screen on Albert Pier. Some are sheltering in the warmth of their boats tuned into BBC Radio Guernsey listening to the service broadcast live. The sound of the church organ and hymns being sung is echoing around the marina.

After the service there will be the Vintage Liberation Mini Cavalcade. More pictures and information will be posted online later.
