2011 Cowes-Torquay-Cowes race assured

Appointment of race director confirms onward planning

A directors’ meeting of the British Powerboat Racing Club in Cowes over the weekend has confirmed the appointment of John Moore (pictured) as event director.

With the amount of work associated with the race there was a real chance the 51st running of the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes offshore powerboat race in 2011 would not go ahead.

John Moore gained considerable experienced during the 2008 Round Britain Race where he was involved all the online planning, publicity and occasional negotiation with outside interests.

He then went on the handle the 50th running of the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes in August 2010.
