Garmin GPSMAP 7400 series launched at METS

Sat nav specialist Garmin has launched the GPSMAP 7400 series of marine multi-function displays at the METS trade show in Amsterdam

Attendees at the METS Amsterdam trade show were treated to a new product launch from Garmin today (18 November).

The sat nav specialist has unveiled GPSMAP 7400, its new collection of multifunction displays, which will be made available in sonar and non-sonar versions.

Garmin is offering a range of screen sizes, from 7-12 inches, and all models will come with pinch-to-zoom functionality.

The 10Hz GPS should make position tracking more seamless on either the worldwide basemap or the BlueChart g2 charts, which can be added as an optional upgrade .

Dan Bartel, vice-president of worldwide sales at Garmin, said: “With the GPSMAP 7400, we’ve integrated the features that the mariner needs in any boating situation.

“We’re offering a sonar and non-sonar version as everyone needs a product to perform differently in various situations.”

Available in the first few months of 2015, the GPSMAP 7400 series will have price tags starting at £1,329.99.
