Jersey Boat Show hailed after strong turnout

Around 38,000 people flocked to Jersey over the weekend for the Channel Islands’ largest free event

The 2014 Barclays Jersey Boat Show has been hailed as a success by organisers after 38,000 boat fans turned out to St Helier marina last weekend (3-5 May).

Decent weather over the Bank Holiday weekend led to positive feedback from exhibitors who reported strong sales.

And the organisers have confirmed that the show will return for an eighth year in 2015, with visitor numbers remaining stable for the past few years.

As the largest free-entry event in the Channel Islands, the Jersey Boat Show hosted a range of on-water displays, including a strong presence from the Royal Navy.

Popular activities included free rib trips and even bungee jumping on the Saturday and Sunday.

“And judging by the positive feedback we have received from traders, exhibitors and members of the public who experienced this years event, I think this feeling is mutual.”
