Motorboat remains snapped up by buyer

You wouldn't have thought these charred remains were worth much...

The remains of the motorboat that went up in flames in Chichester Marina last month have been bought by Essex Boatyards.

James Barke, director of the family-run Wallasea Island outfit, said despite the fact that the GRP superstructure was totally destroyed, the boat’s twin Volvo TAMD75 diesel engines, with under 200 hours on the clock, were “nearly unmarked”.

The price of the boat, which is shown in flames on page 10 of the current April issue of MBY, was not disclosed.
