Two huge launches set for British Motor Yacht Show

The British Motor Yacht Show will see the worldwide debuts of the Sunseeker 95 Yacht and Princess 49

The British Motor Yacht Show at Swanwick Marina this weekend will be the launchpad for two of the year’s most exciting boats, the Sunseeker 95 Yacht and Princess 49.

The 95 Yacht (pictured above), based on the hull of the hugely successful 28m, is said to be a blueprint for the way the Poole yard will design and construct its large yachts going forward.

On board there is sleeping space for up eight guests in four spacious staterooms plus a main deck master cabin for the owner, promising excellent views.

The raised pilothouse design sees an internal bridge sandwiched between the main deck and sun deck above, which has its own twin helm station and an optional hot tub.

Though performance plays a key part in the 95’s charms and it will top out at 26 knots, if you throttle back to displacement speeds it has a claimed range of 1,250 miles.

The Princess 49 is a major milestone for the Plymouth yard as it is the first ever flybridge model to be fitted with IPS. And an all new IPS product at that, a 550hp block mated to Volvo’s revolutionary pod-drive transmission.

Joystick manoeuvrability aside, the 49 promises a top speed of 35 knots and agile handling, as the video below shows.

On board there is a galley-aft layout with a couple of steps up to a bright and sociable dinette with a stylish twin helm to starboard.

Below decks the location of the motors towards the stern of the boat leaves space forward for a full-beam master ensuite, an ensuite VIP with scissor-action berths and a perfectly spacious bunk bed cabin.
