Fairline Targa 53 GT and Squadron 53 in development

The first day of the 2015 London Boat Show saw news emerge of a new Fairline Targa 53 GT and Squadron 53 that will be launched in the next 12 months

Fairline Boats used the opening day of the 2015 CWM FX London Boat Show to announce that two new 53ft models are in development.

The Fairline Targa 53 GT will be launched in September at the 2015 Southampton Boat Show, while the Squadron 53 will arrive in 12 months’ time.

Both models will come with at least two engine options that will give top speeds in excess of 30 knots and a maximum range of more than 300 nautical miles.

Three cabins below decks will offer plentiful accommodation, while the cockpit seating will come in either a C-shape configuration, or the J-shape that is currently offered on the Fairline Targa 48 GT.

Both models will share the same hull, but the key difference will come in the superstructure, with the Squadron model offering a flybridge alternative to the Targa’s sportscruiser profile.

Stuart McCullough, commercial director at Fairline Boats, said: “We are very excited to be announcing our plans for these brand new 53ft models to the boating public at the show.

“We have tried to keep plans for these models strictly under wraps until the show, but we have already started to take orders from the little information that has reached the public domain.”

These two models follow on from the arrival of the Fairline Shadow S (pictured above), which was also unveiled at the show.

Built on the same hull as the Fairline Targa 38 but with a dark grey superstructure and orange interior colour scheme, the Shadow S can lay claim to being the fastest Fairline ever, as it sports twin Volvo Penta D6-400hp engines for a top speed of 44 knots.
