Position – Position 50° 48.12 N 001° 07.36 W Royal Clarence Marina, Gosport

A day ahead of schedule fleet boats have gathered at Royal Clarence Marina, Gosport, for the start of the Channel Islands Liberation Cruise.

A briefing was held at 8pm where Neale addressed the fleet. If the weather allows, over the next 10-days MBM fleet hope to visit the French port of Cherbourg together with the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey. An important appointment being the 9th of May when St Peter Port celebrates Liberation Day, 67 years since their occupation ended.

The MBM team will look at the weather in the morning and the plan for tomorrow is for the control RIB Time Flies to go out at 5am to check the conditions in the Channel, in view of the fleet departing between 6am and 9am.
