Day 17 – West Country

Homeward bound the fleet make for their home ports

Time to go home now

The fleet awoke to a bright sunny morning in Weymouth. With Ray and Claire aboard, Time Flies slipped and headed out of the harbour at 0800hrs. Their mission was to assess the conditions ahead of the fleet’s departure for one last time. The conditions were acceptable, so with the wind behind them the fleet made for their home ports in the Solent and beyond, accompanied by Blue Fin and Time Flies.

The three Brooms Way Ahead, Seaglo and Joli D were making for Brighton and are now safely tied up in the marina. By 1500hrs the rest of the Solent based boats have also logged in with Cruise Leader Neale.

Despite the dismal weather during the first week it seems everyone has enjoyed the cruise. Crews have gained valuable sea miles, knowledge of their boats and have made some friends along the way.

The two control boats Princess 42 Blue Fin and XS 700 RIB Time Flies are now back at Port Solent. Like everyone else, next on the agenda is some cleaning and tidying.

Until next time??
