American Jay Price wins Chinese Grand Prix

Sole British Formula 1 driver, Andy Elliot, finishes 13th

Qatar Team’s Jay Price controlled proceedings in the Grand Prix of China on the Liu River in Liuzhou on Sunday afternoon.

The 2008 world champion led from start to finish. His win gave him 20 valuable championship points and a nine-point lead in the UIM Formula 1 World Championship.

Britain’s Andy Elliott started 17th and finished 13th.

“This is a momentous day for our team,” said Khalid Bin Arhama Al-Kuwari, head of Formula Racing at the Qatar Marine Sports Federation.

“Our strategy worked perfectly, the DAC outfit ran superbly and Jay took a well deserved win. He now has a good lead in the World series and I hope he can repeat the success achieved in 2008.”
