Bad weather prevents a passage to next port Dives su Mer....
Thursday 15th June
Position – St Vaast
Unfortunately, an early morning weather check by Neale confirmed that today was no go for a move to Dives sur Mer. Although the harbour is normally quite sheltered, grey skies above and a chilly north easterly wind confirmed it was the right decision. Weather permitting we will be moving tomorrow and will be able to continue with the schedule, with two nights in Dives.
Despite the weather Zanique headed to Ouistreham and the ferry terminal, as two of their crew were returning to England.
Time ‘n’ Again are still experiencing problems with their electrics and are unable to start their engines. The MBM team assisted Dennis from Valhalla in diagnosing problems and seem to have things sorted.
When 6 o’clock came, crews went into town to watch the World Cup football match between England and Trinidad & Tobago. The MBM team and crew from Harmonie climbed aboard AquaVit and watched the England victory in style with an onboard satellite TV system, specially installed for the occasion.
