British woman hit by Disney ferry

A small boat carrying two holidaymakers collides with ferry

A British woman is in a critical condition after she was hit by a ferry in Disney World, Florida.

Barbara Wormald, from Skipton in North Yorkshire, was sat on the passenger side of a two-seater mini-powerboat with her husband at the wheel when the ferry collided with the boat.

She became trapped between the two vessels, causing spinal injuries, fractured ribs and a collapsed lung and is in a critical but stable condition. Her husband was unhurt.

The captain of the vessel, William Green, claimed that the Sea Raycer drove towards the ferry erratically but Mr Wormald said he could do nothing to avoid the collision, according to The Sun.

Local police are investigating the incident.
