British woman killed in boating accident in Malaysia

The Foreign Office has confirmed that a British woman died following a boating accident yesterday

A woman has died after being involved in a boating accident in Malaysia, the Foreign Office has confirmed.

The victim has been named as Madaline Cole, and the FO said it is “providing consular assistance” to the family, although it would not divulge any details of the incident itself.

Meanwhile, Malaysian news agency, Bernama, has reported that Cole was killed after being hit by a boat propeller while diving near the Shari-La Resort in Pulau Perhentian. Bernama also reports that her Australian friend, Simon James Rogers, was seriously injured.
