The cancellation is with full agreement of the local organiser, and the UIM and Formula I promoter will now be rescheduling the race for a later date once the local infrastructure has been restored. The promoter has also announced that the sum reserved for the Presentation of the Season will now be given to the victims of the tsunami.
A revised 2005 UIM Formula 1 Racing Calendar will be announced shortly.
