Clyde’s ‘Squinty’ bridge closed

Clydeport Authority has closed the Clyde Arc bridge to river traffic until further notice

Clydeport Authority has closed the Clyde Arc bridge to river traffic until further notice. The move follows the failure of one of the bridge cables and discovery of a crack in another.

The £20 million bridge, also known as the Squinty bridge, was completed last year and links Finnieston to Pacific Quay. For safety reasons, all boats are prohibited from passing under the bridge and are not to approach within 200 metres of the structure from either direction. The restriction is likely to remain in place for around six months.
