Denison Yacht Sales lets customers buy with Bitcoin

Fort Lauderdale-based brokerage Denison Yacht Sales has announced that it will be accepting Bitcoin to pay for charter and purchases

Cyber currency Bitcoin has taken another step into the marine market, after American brokerage Denison Yacht Sales announced that it would be accepting this method of paying for boat sales and chartering.

The Fort Lauderdale-based firm sells and charters models from the likes of Monte Carlo Yachts (pictured above), Beneteau and Fountaine Pajot.

Should one of these models be purchased through BitPay it would represent the largest Bitcoin transaction in history, the company claims.

Bob Denison, president of Denison Yacht Sales, said: “We need to be present and available to all potential clients in all marketplaces and if a client wants to pay with Bitcoins, we are now positioned to handle the transaction.”

Denison Yacht Sales is not the only marine organisation to embrace the cyber currency revolution – earlier this year, the RNLI announced that it would be accepting donations in Bitcoin.
