The new Fairline Squadron 48 makes its debut at the PSP Southampton Boat Show

Motor Boat & Yachting can exclusively reveal the first images of the new Fairline Squadron 48.

Making its world debut at September’s PSP Southampton Boat Show the Squadron is one of three new boats to spring from Fairline’s new shared platform manufacturing process, using the same underpinnings as its sportscruiser sibling the Targa 48 Open.

In fact the entire lower deck is exactly the same including the pair of Volvo Penta IPS600 (435hp) pod drives providing the power.

The flybridge itself doesn’t appear overly complicated from these early renderings with two individual seats at the helm station and a generous wrap of L-shaped on the starboard side. A wet-bar ensures guests are suitably catered for and don’t have to dash between the top deck and the galley.

The cockpit and upper saloon are separated by sliding cockpit doors with a U-shaped seating area dominating the saloon’s aft end a cosy L-shaped spot adjacent to the helm station forward.

Below decks there is the option of two or three cabins, the latter layout doing away with the neat lower dinette (pictured above), replaced by a twin bunk cabin.

The owner is well looked after with either layout and gets a full-beam master cabin complete with ensuite bathroom and the must-have hull glazing.

We imagine the interior layout will be much the same on the forthcoming Targa 48 GT.

See the Squadron 48 for the first time on berth M181 at the PSP Southampton Boat Show.
