Dyfed Powys Police have arrested two men for making hoax emergency calls
Dyfed Powys Police have arrested two men for making hoax emergency calls. Milford Haven Coastguards received the calls early on 8 August saying that the men were stranded in a boat off the coast near Aberystwyth.
Four lifeboats and a rescue helicopter were launched, and two coastguard rescue teams despatched to the scene. They were stood down, however, when police traced the mobile phone calls to a location on shore.
