It’s sink or swim for cardboard boats

Gibraltar hosts race with a difference

Powerboats made from plywood are one thing, but an event in Gibraltar saw all the competing boats made from cardboard.

As you might expect, the outcome was more about staying afloat than actually racing. A number of boats sadly sank before crossing the start line, but the majority lasted the course, paddling across Ocean Village marina and impressing the gathered crowds.

The event raised money for the GBC Open Day Charity and the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Group.
