Marina manager thrown into water

Five men in a speedboat launch attack on a Poole marina manager

Police have launched an investigation after a marina manager was thrown into the water at Poole Quay.

John Binder, manager of Poole Quay Boat Haven (pictured), ended up in the water after trying to stop several men releasing a boat which had been impounded for non payment of charges.

Five men, some carrying bolt croppers, are reported to have entered the haven aboard a speedboat on Monday afternoon (23 August 2010).

Mr Binder became involved in an argument with one of the men when he tried to stop them, and he was pushed into the water.

The raiders fled, leaving Mr Binder with leg injuries which were treated by paramedics.
