MBM reader takes red diesel fight to Gloucester

Don’t miss MBM reader Chris Fisher at Gloucester’s Three Clubs’ Regatta this bank holiday weekend.

Fisher has organised his own stand at the three-day event to campaign on the red diesel issue.

He will be collecting signatures for a petition encouraging the Government to press the European Union to extend UK leisureboaters’ permission to use red diesel.

As MBM’s campaign on the issue has shown, the looming cessation of the derogation allowing us to use the low-tax fuel would cause untold damage to the entire marine industry.

Elsewhere the colourful regatta will feature watersports displays, children’s events, safety demonstrations and a boat-handling competition.

Around the waterfront there’ll be a variety of stalls including chandlers and an RYA representative.

The main events will take place on 29 May in the revitalised Gloucester Docks.
