Miss Daisy matches her race number

British Airways Captains equal their race number in donation to RNLI

A presentation was made to the RNLI during scrutineering for the Round Britain Race at Gunwharf Quays on Thursday. The four man crew of the Fairey Spearfish Miss Daisy, all captains from the British Airways long distance fleet, raised a sum from fellow BA aircrew plus £200 from members of the Fairey Owners Club matching their race number.
Miss Daisy has recently been re-engined with a pair of Cummins diesels totalling 900hp and is a serious contender in the HC1 class of the race which will be flagged away off Portsmouth at 9.30am on Saturday, June 21. The donation was made by Jonathan Napier, Andy Fielding, Marl Jealous and Cormac Lundy and is thought to be the first of others made to the RNLI generated during the event.
