Which are the best boats on the market?
Fairline Boats was the big winner in Monday’s Motor Boat of the Year Awards, scooping two prizes and a ‘highly commended’.
Fairline’s Targa 38 (pictured) won the Sportscruiser below 45ft category, while the Squadron 68 picked up the Flybridge over 50ft prize. In the Flybridge under 50ft section, the Phantom 48 was highly commended.
The awards, sponsored by ShoreGuard, were judged by the boat testers of Motor Boats Monthly and Motorboat & Yachting and presented on Monday night at the Savoy Hotel, London. Each category was open to all boats currently on the market that had been tested by one or both of the magazines.
Also among the winners were the Nord West 420 for Flybridge under 50ft, the Nordhavn 47 for Trawler and Aft Cabin, and the Windy 25 Mirage for Sportsboat and RIB.
In the Outstanding Service Award, nominated by visitors to ybw.com, Penton Hook Marine Sales came out top.
MBM Editor Simon Collis said, “Congratulations go not just to the winners, but to every manufacturer whose boats were shortlisted. They are all top-quality products – though the winners are simply outstanding.”
Look out for full reviews of the awards in the February issues of MBM and MBY.
