Next year’s Round Britain Race cancelled

The fourth Round Britain Race was due to take place in June 2011

A lack of entries and time have forced organisers to cancel next year’s Round Britain Race.

The event was due to take place from June 18-26, and would have been the fourth time the race had been run since 1969.

The cancellation does not affect RB12, a round Britain event planned for 2012 that will see boats, cars and planes compete in a dash around the country.

Organiers of the 2011 event have now thrown their weight behind the Cowes to Monte Carlo Race, which is set to take place in 2013.
