Nord West to launch 430 Flybridge at Gothenburg

The Nord West 430 Flybridge is based on the 430 SportsTop hull

The Gothenburg Boat Show (2-10 February) will be the springboard from which Nord West will launch its new 430 Flybridge.

The 430 is based on the hull of the outgoing 430 SportsTop and will act as a replacement for the award-winning 420.

Its sportscruiser underpinnings – plus the fact that it can be specified with either twin sterndrives or IPS – mean that the 430 should be a sprightly performer out on the water with all of the agility and reassurance that Nord West is famous for.

This is the first boat the Nord West has built since it acquired the sailing boat builder Najad and the yard claims that this new shared knowledge has improved the practicality of the 430’s interior.

Of course the Nord West hallmarks should all be in place with exquisite woodwork, attention to detail and general build quality plus super-refined cruising thanks to an increased focus on cancelling out noise and vibration.

On board there is a three-cabin layout comprising a double master ensuite in the bow and two similar guest cabins amidships, which share a bathroom.

The flybridge is interesting in that it has three forward-facing bucket seats at the helm, and a main seating/dining area aft with a fabulous folding table. In between the two areas there is a small wet-bar.

In a heavily competitive section of the market the Nord West offers something refreshingly different, even if it is likely to be on the pricey side. The handling will send sportscruises running scared and it will be built to a standard like no other – we look forward to putting it to the test.

Key statistics:
Length 44ft 3in (13.5m)
Beam 12ft 8in (3.9m)
Engines Twin Volvo Penta D6 (sterndrives or IPS) up to twin 435hp
Cabins 3
Berths 6
