The Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa will bring five-star luxury accommodation to MDL’s Ocean Village Marina
A brand new hotel and spa complex at Ocean Village Marina will bring five-star luxury back to Southampton in the next two years.
The new development by Nicolas James Group will be situated next to MDL Marina’s 450-berth facility and will be Southampton’s only five-star hotel.
Due for completion by early 2017, the 85-bedroom complex will also feature a rooftop Champagne bar, jetty restaurant, spa, gym and function rooms.
A renowned London design house is developing the interior décor and the results are likely to reflect the nautical setting by Ocean Village Marina.
And as the artist’s impression above shows, the architect has clearly been inspired by modern superyacht shapes.

The new hotel will also feature private moorings reserved for its seafaring guests, with demand likely to peak in early September during the annual PSP Southampton Boat Show.
Preliminary construction work has already begun at the site and the finished hotel will act as the flagship for the Harbour Hotels chain, which already has five locations across the South West, including St Ives, Salcombe and Christchurch.
Mike Warren, managing director of Harbour Hotels, said: “We are very confident that the hotel and its facilities will prove a fabulous addition to Southampton, boosting tourism and becoming a destination of choice for city-dwellers and visitors alike.”
In addition to the five-star hotel, Nicolas James Group is also developing 100 apartments on the site, which will offer waterfront views and access to the Harbour Hotels Spa.
