Poole Harbour ferry shuts as bus overturns

The Sandbanks chain ferry has been forced to close after an open-top double decker bus overturned injuring twenty-five people

The Sandbanks chain ferry is temporarily shut following an accident involving an overturned bus this morning.

The accident, in which 25 people were injured, occurred at about 10am this morning on the Studland side of Poole Harbour.

Several passengers were airlifted to hospital although none of the injuries are thought to be life threatening. The ferry is currently reserved for use by the emergency services but it will hopefully be back in operation by 7pm this evening.
