See footage of the man the Broads Authority plans to press charges against after he was captured on film driving dangerously
The Broads Authority (BA) plans to press charges against the wayward driver of a RIB who was captured on film driving at dangerous speeds on the Broads.
In the footage, which appeared on the internet, the RIB is seen circling a cruiser before the driver goes overboard and the RIB hits the cruiser with its engine still running. The unmanned RIB then appears to drive over the driver’s head before bashing into another boat.
A spokesperson at the BA said that it has taken a statement from the people who filmed the incident and that they are prepared to go to court. The BA added that it has traced the owner of the boat but not the driver yet, although it has a good idea of who it is and aims to prosecute as soon as possible.
If convicted the driver could face a fine of up to £2000.
