RNLI crew awarded Gallantry medals

Two volunteer lifeboat crew are to be awarded for their roles in rescues



The RNLI is awarding two crew members with prestigious silver and bronze Medals for Gallantry.

Garry Clark of Dungeness will be awarded the silver medal by the RNLI for showing exemplary bravery and determination during a rescue of seven people which involved him being transferred to the stricken vessel, Liquid Vortex 3, on 3 January 2012.

Roger Jackson of Exmouth RNLI will be awarded the bronze medal for his boat-handling skill and tenacity in exceptional conditions whilst rescuing the crew of a capsized powerboat last October.

The Awards will be presented to the crew during the RNLI annual presentation evening held at the Barbican in London on 17 May 2012.
