Sea-Doo to partner Red Bull Storm Chase 2012

Sea-Doo jet skis will act as safety craft in the worldwide windsurfing events

BRP’s Sea-Doo jet skis have been chosen by Red Bull as the safety craft for the Red Bull Storm Chase 2012.

The jet skis, covered in full Red Bull livery, will be thrown head on into some of the biggest surf the world’s oceans have to offer.

Taking on “the roughest conditions on the planet” the Storm Chase sees ten of the world’s best windsurfers battling it out to be the bravest and the best.

The organisers lie in wait and monitor storm patterns across seven locations in Europe, Asia Pacific and North America. When a storm breaks the whole show can be mobilised and arrive at a destination within 48 hours.

BRP vice-president Chris Dawson says: “This partnership with Red Bull is an exciting opportunity for BRP, enabling us to showcase Sea-Doo watercraft and its acclaimed Intelligent Brake & Reverse technology (iBR) – the only braking technology in the industry.”

BRP and Sea-Doo’s affiliation with organisations such as the US Coast Guard, Australian water police and French Red Cross bolster its reputation as the perfect safety vehicle for the job.

“We are pleased that BRP has come on board as an official partner at this year’s Red Bull Storm Chase,” says Klaas Voget, Sports Director for Red Bull Storm Chase 2012.

“It is critical that we have the right processes and support in place when confronted with some of the toughest weather conditions around to ensure the contest remains under control. With BRP’s Sea-Doo PWC on hand, we are prepared for some huge waves.”
