The first ever British Motor Yacht Show basks in glorious sunshine

MBM visits the first show that pulls together boats from just three British builders: Princess, Fairline and Sunseeker

Glorious sunshine blazes down on boats at the very first British Motor Yacht Show in Swanwick, Southampton.

A total of 15 boats from the big British boatbuilders, Fairline, Princess and Sunseeker will be on display between now and Sunday, while on land there are stands from a number of exhibitors.

The modest boutique show is the official UK launch of the new Princess V48. The two-cabin boat offers plenty of space on board, and with twin IPS 600 D6 engines, a top speed of around 31 knots is predicted, however speeds are yet to confirmed as the boat is still undergoing propeller tuning.

Also on show is the Garmin 8000, fitted on the Fairline Squadron 78, the most customised boat ever from the builder.
