Fjord 40 Cruiser

Modern looks and lots of light

What is it?:A Fjord 40 Open with a lid on. In other words,
a beamy, radically styled, twin-cabin, IPS-powered hardtop sportscruiser with truly great views out.

Worth seeing because:At the beginning of this year we tested one of the most radically styled large sportscruisers we’ve ever been on board – the Fjord 40 Open (MBY January 2008).

Despite its extreme style, it proved to be a remarkably practical boat, bursting with cockpit stowage, surprisingly roomy below decks, and capable of instilling instant celebrity status on its crew.

Now Fjord have built this hardtop version. Same hull, same exuberant style, and the same 370hp IPS500 (435hp IPS600 are an option), which powered our 40 Open to 38.7 knots. But now it has a protected saloon with a long galley under the hardtop, while still retaining a usefully roomy aft cockpit, too. Lots of glass means a great view out. Expect to be gobsmacked.
