VIDEO: Draco 27 RS tested on the water

Dave Marsh gets behind the helm of the new dayboat from Norwegian manufacturer Draco

Given some of the seas that they have to contend with locally, it’s hardly surprising that the boatbuilders at Norwegian manufacturer Draco know a thing or two about deflecting spray.

So much so that MBY’s Dave Marsh barely managed to get the windscreen wet in two hours of high-speed madness on board the new Draco 27 RS.

This dayboat sports a Hans Jørgen Johnson-designed deep-vee hull, which keeps the helm position well protected, even at its top speed of 42 knots.

In this video, Dave drives a 300hp version of the new Draco from Lymington to Southampton for the 2014 PSP Southampton Boat Show.

Once moored up, we get a closer look at the clever layout, which includes a fold-out bow pulpit in the bow and a convertible sundeck in the rear.

Watch the video below to see for yourself, and to read Dave’s full report, pick up the November edition of MBY, which is out 2 October.

MBY’s boat tests are sponsored by Pantaenius.
