Falmouth is the third largest natural harbour in the world and offers an excellent choice of places to drop the hook. If you want to anchor overnight on the River Fal, a good holding, plus shelter from strong winds are a must and here there are anchorages for every occasion.

Watch out for
Beware of strong tides and rips at the north end of Carrick Road.

Peace and quiet.

Local tip
Tie up at one of the visitor buoys for a drink and a meal at the historical Smugglers’ Cottage, parts of which date back to the 15th century.
