The Classic Motor Boat Association (CMBA) has added an additional weekend meeting to its 2004 calendar.

The Classic Motor Boat Association (CMBA) has added an additional weekend meeting to its 2004 calendar. It will take place on St. Anne’s Lake at the John Battleday Waterski Park, Chertsey, Surrey beginning Friday 30 April.

St Anne’s Lake can a accommodate a maximum of 25 runabouts and hence the event is likely to be fully supported. Craft belonging to members of the fast growing CMBA mainly come from the 1950s and early sixties. Most have been restored beyond their original showroom condition with the inboard powered Albatross and Delta ranges outnumbering the more recent outboard marques.

Among the leading boats expected to attend on the 30th is Collywobble, a Mercury powered hydroplane from the late 50s that swept the trophy board in her heyday. Two wooden Moon Fleet runabouts, two Fenn & Wood originals and an early Swiss Boesch that towed water-skiing champions around European tournaments more than 30 years ago will also be taking part in the rally.
