Honda launches Four Nations Cup

The Honda Formula 4-Stroke offshore powerboat championship will now include a series of grand prix events within the UK for the Four Nations Cup

The Honda Formula 4-Stroke offshore powerboat championship, renowned for the fierce competitiveness of its record-breaking fleet, today gains a new dimension with the introduction of the Four Nations Cup.

The Four Nations Cup will be awarded to the 130hp or 225hp team with the highest number of points after the first four events of the 2002 Honda Formula 4-Stroke championship. These grands prix cover the four nations within the United Kingdom: Wales, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

“With the introduction of the 225hp championship this year we thought it important to have an award that encompasses both race classes,” comments Martin Sanders, General Manager, Power Equipment, Honda (UK). “Everyone who races in the Honda Formula 4-Stroke series knows that every race counts but this will intensify the competition right from the first buoy in Cardiff.”
