Motor racing star aims to inject performance in flagging team

The Italian GiorgiOffshore team has confirmed a new line-up for the remaining four rounds of the Class 1 season in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Italian motor racing driver Sandro Sardelli will make his Class 1 debut behind the wheel of the Lamborghini-SCAM powered Giorgioffshore alongside the experienced Nicola Giorgi.

“Sandro is a very good motor racing driver and has a real passion for powerboats. He is a good friend of mine and the team is happy and confident we can secure a long-term project together in Class 1,” said throttleman Giorgi.

Sardelli has enjoyed a successful career on four wheels spanning 15 years.

In the 1990s he competed in the Italian CIVT Championship, winning the Nurburgring 24 Hour. He later moved up to race in the FIA European Super Touring Car Championship.
