London Boat Show next month

Dates, ticket prices and other info

No sooner will Christmas and New Year be out of the way than the London Boat Show at ExCeL will be upon us, so our advice is start preparing now if you want a family trip to Docklands to run smoothly.

The show runs from 9-18 January 2009 and this year celebrates its 55th birthday.

Opening Times
Friday 9 January (Preview Day) 10am – 7pm
Saturday 10 to Wednesday 14 January 10am – 7pm
Thursday 15 January (Late night) 10am – 9pm
Friday 16 to Saturday 17 January 10am – 7pm
Sunday 18 January 10am – 6pm

One of the new features at the event will be Suzuki GB’s 1,000 sq m indoor harbour, containing around 15,000 litres of water and featuring 14 sportsboats, RIBs and fishing boats powered by Suzuki 4-stroke outboards.

A further 9 boats will be displayed on the stand making a total of 24 boats from 11 different boat brands.

The RIB market will be represented by Capelli, Redbay, Ribcraft, Ribquest, RIB-X, Solent and Stingher.

There will also be sports boats from Karnic and Ranieri as well as fishing/leisure boats from Orkney and Warrior to choose from.

Other key attractions at this year’s show include:

The Main Stage – Powered by Fairline, featuring fashion shows, talks and interviews with boating figures, as well as an aerial spectacular called A Mermaid’s Tale.

Deck Games, giving visitors the opportunity to try canoeing and kayaking as well as enjoy model boat racing

Classic Boat, supported by Classic Boat, Old Pulteney and International Paint, offering the chance to watch, learn and talk to experts about classic boats as well as catch up on the Cutty Sark conservation project

The show’s regatta, boasting fast-paced Thundercat demonstrations
