MBY December 2018 is out now!

In the December issue we review the Cannes Boat Show and test the Ferretti 670, Windy 27 Solano and Cockwells Titian Tender

In the December 2018 edition of MBY we review the Cannes Boat Show and look at some of the coolest new models that will be taking to the water in 2019.

Featuring the likes of the Riva 66 Ribelle, Pardo 43, Numarine 26 XP, Azimut S6 and Cormate Chase 34 it’s safe to say that there is plenty to get excited about in the year to come.

The Ferretti 670 is our cover star and main test this month; it’s a boat with effortless presence, style and performance but does it move the game on enough to stay head of the chasing pack?

We also test the Cockwells Titian Tender, a hand built wooden tender with jet drives that is as much a work of intricate floating art as it is a boat. As Nick Burnham discovers, though, it’s a riot to drive as well.

In the cruising section Peter Cumberlidge explores the beautiful island of Corsica and Thomas and Jutta Kittel make to Portugal on their way down to the Mediterranean.

In the tech section we take a close look at the Silent Yachts 55 solar powered catamaran and ask whether its mix of solar, battery and generator power is a viable propulsion option. Plus the Raymarine Ray90/91 VHF, Suzuki DF150A/DF175A outboards, Gill Season Two collection and Overboard Duffel Bag.

Turning our attention to used boats, we feature the Aquastar 45/47/48, a fearsome semi-displacement aft-cabin cruiser that can be had for £150,000 for an early model and we task Nick Burnham with finding a secondhand open cockpit 30ft cruiser.
