Find out what went into this stunning sequence of the Olympics opening ceremony
On July 27, some 900 million people tuned in to to watch the opening ceremony of the Olympics – one of the key moments of which was David Beckham’s journey down the Thames in a powerboat.
In the October issue of Motor Boat & Yachting (out 6 September), we have the exclusive inside story of this stunning sequence, and talk to the builder of the boat, Jeremy Watts of Ice Marine.
The issue also carries the world’s very first test of the Sunseeker Portofino 40, a boat which marks Sunseeker’s re-engagement with 40ft sportscruiser territory.
Elsewhere in the issue, we test 12 leading lifejackets at the RNLI’s headquarters in Poole and we climb on board the WallyAce 26m to bring you the scoop on Wally’s first long-distance cruiser.
There’s plenty more packed into the issue, including a lesson in overnight anchoring, a trip to Finland’s archipelagos and a test of the new Monte Carlo Yachts 65, so don’t miss it!
