RYA to host powerboat racing safety seminar

Three-day event to promote safety awareness in all areas of powerboat racing

The Powerboat Division of the RYA will be holding a three-day safety seminar at its headquarters in Hamble from March 11-13.

It is to be hosted by Bob Wartinger, chairman of Cominsafe at the Union Internationale Motornautiqe (UIM).

March 11 will be aimed at RYA powerboat scrutineers and measurers, covering various aspects of racing safety such as steering and stability, personal safety equipment and other sensitive areas that can cause problems if not detected.

Saturday March 12 will be open to all RYA officers of the day, safety officers and commissioners (dedicated RYA officials attending and advising organisers at the event).

Sunday March 13, meanwhile, will be open to all competitors in offshore, circuit and jet sport racing.
