Sir Robin Knox-Johnston to give talk in Cowes

Top raggie tells all

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston will give a talk at the Cowes Yacht Haven Events Centre on Friday 26 October. The great sailor will share stories of his many adventures.

Sir Robin made history in 1969 when, after 312 days at sea, he became the first man ever to sail solo and non-stop around the world.

In 1993, he completed another first and broke The Jules Verne round the world speed record as co-skipper with Sir Peter Blake of Enza. This time in just 74 days.

And he recently took part in the Velux 5 Oceans solo round the world race, en route being given a prestigious Oldie of the Year award.

Steve Cole, General Manager of the Cowes Yacht Haven said: “We are delighted that Sir Robin Knox-Johnston has agreed to visit the Cowes Yacht Haven. We look forward to hearing stories of his exploits and yachting adventures. Sir Robin has also agreed to take questions from the assembled audience.”
