Southampton show under construction

Three weeks to PSP Southampton Boat Show

With three weeks to go until the PSP Southampton Boat Show opens its doors, the purpose built marina and land-based exhibits are beginning to be constructed and installed.

With the show opening on 11 September, Andrew Williams, managing director of organiser National Boat Shows, and Frank Dixie, managing director of headline sponsor PSP, were waterside to inspect progress on the show’s purpose-built marina.

With the marina under construction and work on both Mayflower and Solent Parks due to start in just over a week, preparations for the city’s annual marine extravaganza are well underway, with the team already ensuring a smooth build up to this year’s record breaking PSP Southampton Boat Show.

Frank Dixie of PSP said: “In just three short weeks the show kicks off and this whole area will be bustling with boats, exhibitors and visitors.

“I’m always astounded at how much is done in such a short space of time in order to create the fantastic show that we all know and love, and I’m really looking forward to the ten days of the show.”

Andrew Williams from organisers National Boat Shows added: “In all the excitement in the run up to the show, we almost lose sight of how much time and effort goes into creating the PSP Southampton Boat Show.

“We forget that for the rest of the year I wouldn’t be able to stand where I am now, and more importantly, neither would our visitors!”
